Introduction

Biography

Jack was the son of Jack Hay­ford and Ani­ta De­lores Farns­worth. He mar­ried twice, to An­na Smith (1955) and Val­er­ie Le­mire (2018).

He gra­du­at­ed from L.I.F.E. Bi­ble Col­lege (now Life Pa­ci­fic Uni­ver­si­ty), Los An­ge­les (1956) and Azu­sa Pa­ci­fic Uni­ver­si­ty, Azu­sa, Ca­li­for­nia (1970).

He was the na­tion­al youth di­rect­or of the In­ter­na­tion­al Church of the Fours­quare Gos­pel (1956–73).

In 1965, he joined the fa­cul­ty of L.I.F.E. Bi­ble Col­lege. He later be­came dean of stu­dents there, and its pre­si­dent in 1977.

In 1969, he was the found­ing pas­tor at Church of the Way, Van Nuys, Ca­li­for­nia. Start­ing with 18 mem­bers, the church ev­en­tu­al­ly grew to a congregation of ov­er 10,000.
