Died: December 1793, St. Helens, Windle, Lancaster, England. Tradition says he was killed by being thrown from a stagecoach. His funeral sermon was preached at the Presbyterian Chapel in St. Helens on December 13.
Hatton lived on Duke Street, St. Helens, in Windle, from which his famous tune gets its name.
