Biography

Belle was the daught­er of Ed­ward B. Case and Hel­en An­ni­bal Case, and wife of New­ton Ross Har­ring­ton.

A child­hood ac­ci­dent left her lame for life, but she loved to write. She con­trib­ut­ed to ma­ga­zines such as Cos­mo­pol­i­tan, La­dies Home Jour­nal, and Wo­men’s Home Com­panion.

In 1885 she wrote an ar­ticle each week for the To­le­do Blade under the name The Old Maid. She was al­so known as an ex­cel­lent pub­lic speak­er.
