Biography

Samuel was the son of Sam­uel Greg and Han­nah Light­bo­dy.

He was edu­cat­ed by Dr. Lant Car­pen­ter in Bris­tol, and at Ed­in­burgh Uni­vers­ity. He owned the Low­er­house Mill in Boll­ing­ton, Che­shire, near Mac­cles­field.

Works

Addresses he gave at serv­ic­es con­ducted for his work­ers were pub­lished post­hu­mous­ly in 1877, and al­so as Short Ser­mons from a Lay­man’s Le­ga­cy (Lon­don: Phil­ip Green, 1895).
