Biography

John was the son of Will­iam Green­wood and Eli­za­beth Will­ans, and hus­band of Hel­en Re­bec­ca Black­burn.

Educated at Hud­ders­field Col­lege, Green­wood was a mer­chant ship­per of cot­ton yarn to the con­ti­nent­al mar­kets.

Works

His ma­ny hymns were writ­ten chief­ly for Sun­day school an­ni­ver­sa­ry ser­vic­es, and oth­er spe­cial oc­ca­sions.
