Born: September 2, 1903, Roby, Merseyside, England.
Died: October 22, 2000, Norwich, England. His ashes were scattered on the grounds of the Methodist retirement home into which he and his wife moved in 1990.
Green was educated at Rydal School, Colwyn Bay, and Didsbury College, Manchester.
Before turning to hymn writing, he served as a Circuit Minister, and Superintendent, and for seven years as Chairman of the Methodist York and Hull District.
