Died: August 12, 1948, St. Leonard’s on the Sea, Sussex, England.
Son of the curate at Hawley, Gillett was educated at Westminster School and Keble College, Oxford (BA 1896).
He was ordained a deacon in 1898, and priest in 1899, and held curacies in London and Brighton.
He spent time in South Africa (1913–25), was an editor for the Society for Propagation of the Gospel (1926–33), and served as chaplain to the Community of St. Peter in St. Leonard’s on the Sea.
While domestic chaplain to Earl Beauchamp at Madresfield, he contributed three translations and a hymn to the 1906 English Hymnal.
