Biography

Eben was the son of Sol­om­on Frost and Dor­cas Hop­kins.

He was a mu­sic teach­er, but is prob­ab­ly best re­mem­bered as the first pa­tient to re­ceive eth­er as an an­es­the­tic from Will­iam T. G. Mor­ton, Sep­tem­ber 30, 1846, in Mor­ton’s den­tal prac­tice in Bos­ton, Mas­sa­chu­setts.
