Biography

Jay was the son of Charles Mor­ti­mer Ford and Jo­se­phine Grant Broas, and hus­band of Ma­til­da Rho­da Mor­gan (mar­ried 1874, Nan­ti­coke, New York).

He prac­ticed law for a few years be­fore be­com­ing a Bap­tist min­is­ter. In his lat­er years, he op­erat­ed a bu­si­ness col­lege un­til join­ing the DeKalb High School fa­cul­ty. He was al­so sec­re­ta­ry of the De­Kalb Com­mer­cial Club.
