Biography

Alice was the wife of Da­ni­el Flow­er­dew, who for a few years held a gov­ern­ment post in Ja­mai­ca.

After his death in 1801, she kept a la­dies’ board­ing school in Is­ling­ton. Dur­ing that time, she was a mem­ber of the Ge­ne­ral Bap­tist con­gre­ga­tion in Wor­ship Street (lat­er re­named Beth­nal Green Road).

She lat­er moved to Bu­ry St. Ed­munds, and some years af­ter to Ips­wich.
