Pseudonym: Foles­hill, in The Chris­tian Ma­ga­zine, 1790–93.

Biography

As a youth, Ev­ans worked in a rib­bon fac­to­ry.

About 1778, he joined the con­gre­ga­tion at Co­ven­try where George Bur­der was pas­tor.

Evans start­ed preach­ing at Foles­hill in 1782, and in 1795 he be­gan his min­is­try there, which last­ed un­til his death.

He was or­dained Ap­ril 4, 1797. Two bi­o­gra­phi­cal no­tic­es of him ap­peared in the Ev­an­ge­li­cal Ma­ga­zine (Oc­to­ber 1809 and March 1847).
