Born: Jan­u­a­ry 5, 1788, Er­es­ing, Ba­va­ria.

Died: May 16, 1847, Mu­nich, Ger­ma­ny.

Buried: Al­ter Süd­fried­hof, Mu­nich, Ger­ma­ny.

At age nine, Ett be­came a cho­ris­ter in a Ben­e­dic­tine ab­bey.

He stu­died at the Wil­helm Gym­na­si­um and Elect­or’s School in Mu­nich, and in 1816, was ap­point­ed or­gan­ist at St. Mi­chael’s Church in Mu­nich, where he re­mained un­til his death.

He com­posed se­ver­al mass­es and oth­er Ca­tho­lic church mu­sic. Streets bear his name in both Eres­ing and Mu­nich.
