Biography

At age nine, Ett be­came a cho­ris­ter in a Be­ne­dic­tine ab­bey.

He stu­died at the Wil­helm Gym­na­si­um and Elect­or’s School in Mu­nich, and in 1816, was ap­point­ed or­gan­ist at St. Mi­chael’s Church in Mu­nich, where he re­mained un­til his death.

Both Eres­ing and Mu­nich have streets bear­ing his name.
