Introduction

Biography

John was the son of Will­iam East of St. Mar­tin’s par­ish, West­minster.

He at­tend­ed St. Ed­mund Hall, Ox­ford (1811–16, BA 1816, MA 1819). He served as rec­tor of Cross­combe, So­mer­set (1828), and rec­tor of St. Mi­chael’s, Bath (1843).
