Son of William East of St. Martin’s parish, Westminster, John attended St. Edmund’s Hall, Oxford (1811-16, BA 1816, MA 1819). He served as Rector of Crosscombe, Somerset (1828), and Rector of St. Michael’s, Bath (1843). His works include:
