Son of William Dugmore, Q. C., Ernest was educated at Bruce Castle School, by private tutors, and at Wadham College, Oxford (BA 1867, MA 1869). Ordained in 1867, he was Curate at St. Peter’s, Vauxhall (1867–72); Vicar of Parkstone (1872); and Canon of Sarum and Prebendary of Gillingham Major (1900). His works include:
