1628-1684 Claude de Senteul

February 3, 1628, Paris, France.

September 29, 1684.

Santolius Maglorianus.

Santeüil was for many years a secular ecclesiastic at the Seminary of St. Magloire. The Archbishop of Paris, desiring to reform the Paris Breviary, charged Claude with composing the new hymns. He enlisted the help of his brother Jean, though, who did the major part of the work.
