Biography

John was the son of Jo­seph All­en De­muth and Char­lotte Sim­mers, and hus­band of Em­ma Horn­ing.

He taught vio­lin, cor­net, horn, trom­bone, oboe, and cla­ri­net at the Ober­lin Col­lege Con­ser­va­to­ry of Mu­sic, 1889–1919.
