Crawford went to Pon­do­land, South Af­ri­ca, in 1893. In 1904, she mar­ried Dr. T. W. W. Craw­ford of the Chris­tian Mis­sion­ary So­cie­ty in Ki­ku­yu, Brit­ish East Af­ri­ca (now Kenya).
