Biography

Joseph was the son of Chris­to­pher and June Cook, and hu­sband of Su­sie Oaks Can­field (mar­ried Sep­tem­ber 24, 1885, La­colle, Que­bec, Ca­na­da).

He was ed­u­cat­ed at Wes­leyan Col­lege, Mc­Gill Un­i­ver­si­ty, Mont­ré­al, Ca­na­da.

Ordained a Me­tho­dist min­is­ter, he lat­er served in the Unit­ed Church of Ca­na­da.
