Daughter of minister John Woodbridge, Martha first mar­ried a Mr. Haw­ley, and af­ter his death, to cler­gy­man and ed­it­or Par­sons Cook (1800-65), in Bridge­port, Con­nec­ti­cut. She sur­vived Par­sons at his death in Lynn, Mass­a­chu­setts.
