Collinge was a min­is­ter. His song My Guid­ing Star was pub­lished in Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois & Phi­la­del­phia, Penn­syl­van­ia, in 1913.

We spe­cu­late he may be C. W. Coll­inge (1859–1931), who is bur­ied in To­le­do, Ohio.
