Biography

Cleveland was the son of Ben­jamin Cleve­land and Ann Clark. He was a first cou­sin to min­is­ter Aar­on Cleve­land, an­ces­tor of Am­er­ican pre­si­dent Gro­ver Cleve­land. He mar­ried twice, to Ma­ry El­der­kin (1754) and Sar­ah Hib­bard (1784).
