Biography

Cheever gra­du­at­ed from Bow­doin Col­lege, Bruns­wick, Maine, in 1825.

He served as a Con­gre­ga­tion­al pas­tor at Sa­lem, Mas­sa­chu­setts (1833); New York (1839); and at the Church of the Pu­ri­tans, New York (1846–67).
