Pauline was the daughter of Paul Jewett Bishop and Frances Ann Bacon Bishop. In 1883, she visited Springfield, Missouri, where she met Doctor Walter Atwood Camp. Two years later, they married, and she moved to Springfield, where she spent the rest of her life. She was a talented artist, poet & writer, contributing many articles and poems to leading magazines. She was also an ardent church worker, and member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church.
