Born: De­cem­ber 7, 1753, Bres­lau, Ger­ma­ny (now Wro­cław, Po­land).

Died: Ap­ril 28, 1831, Ber­lin, Ger­ma­ny (some sourc­es say Bres­lau).

Biography

Bürde’s fa­ther was keep­er of St. Bar­ba­ra’s Church in Bres­lau.

After stu­dy­ing law at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Hal­le, Sam­uel was tu­tor and su­per­in­ten­dent of a cha­ri­ty school at Bres­lau (1776–78).

He then be­came pri­vate sec­re­ta­ry to the Ca­bi­net min­is­ter von Haug­witz, worked two years in the For­es­try De­part­ment, and af­ter be­ing sec­re­ta­ry to the Fi­nance De­part­ment at Bres­lau, be­came a mem­ber of the Aul­ic Coun­cil and Di­rect­or of Chan­ce­ry at Ber­lin.
