Biography

Georg was the son of Chris­tof­fer Bron­ner (or Brun­ner) and Mar­ga­re­ta Brod­ha­gen.

He was not­ed as a sex­ton in East­er 1688. From East­er 1689 to Christ­mas 1719 he was or­gan­ist at the Heil­ig­en-Geist-Hos­pi­tal in Ham­burg.

He com­posed for the op­era Gän­se­markt, Ham­burg, 1693–1702. In 1699 he suc­ceed­ed Dr. M. Cordes as op­era di­rect­or.

Of the sev­en op­eras that Bron­ner com­posed in part with Jo­hann Mat­the­son and Jo­hann Chris­tian Schief­er­deck­er, on­ly the ti­tles are known.
