Biography

Leigh was the son of Shel­don Sykes Brew­er and Lu­ra Cram­ton, and hus­band of Hen­ri­et­ta Foote.

He was edu­cat­ed at Ho­bart Col­lege and the Ge­ne­ral Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry, and or­dained in 1866.

He was rec­tor of Grace Church, Car­thage, New York (1866–72) and Tri­ni­ty Church, Wa­ter­town, New York (1872–80).

He was con­se­crat­ed as Mis­sion­ary Bi­shop of Mon­ta­na in 1880, and was liv­ing in Hel­ena, Mon­ta­na, as of 1911.
