Biography

Kem was the son of Ben­ja­min Frank­lin Bot­torf and Ma­ry E. Bot­torf.

He was liv­ing in Sny­der, Penn­syl­van­ia, in 1910. Co­py­right re­cords show him in Chi­ca­go, Il­li­nois, by 1916.

He was draft­ed in­to mi­li­ta­ry serv­ice in Chi­ca­go cir­ca 1917–18.
