Bookmyer was living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1921, and in Landsdowne, Pennsylvania, in 1947.

At various times, he was a secretary to Charles Alexander, a Field Secretary for the American Bible Society, Corresponding Secretary of a branch of the National Association of Local Preachers, and Superintendent of the Philadelphia District of the Anti-Saloon League.

We suspect he is Edwin H. Bookmyer (1873–1956), who is buried in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.
