Educated at St. John’s College, Cam­bridge (BA 1862, MA 1876), Body served as Curate of St. James, Wed­nes­bu­ry (1863–65); Sedg­ley (1865–67); Curate of Christ Church, Wol­ver­hamp­ton (1867–70); Rector of Kir­by-Mis­per­ton (1870–74); Canon of Dur­ham and Mis­sion­er of the Diocese (1883); and Proctor for the Arch­dea­co­nry of Cleve­land (1880–85). In 1885, he received an honorary DD degree from Dur­ham University. His works include:
