Educated at St. John’s College, Cambridge (BA 1862, MA 1876), Body served as Curate of St. James, Wednesbury (1863–65); Sedgley (1865–67); Curate of Christ Church, Wolverhampton (1867–70); Rector of Kirby-Misperton (1870–74); Canon of Durham and Missioner of the Diocese (1883); and Proctor for the Archdeaconry of Cleveland (1880–85).
