Biography

Berggreen stu­died law, but event­u­al­ly pur­sued a ca­reer in mu­sic, stu­dy­ing un­der Chris­to­pher Weyse. In 1838, he be­came the or­gan­ist at Trin­i­ta­tis Kir­ke in Co­pen­ha­gen.

In 1843, he was teach­ing sing­ing at the Me­tro­pol­i­tan­skol­en, and in 1859, he be­came a song in­spec­tor.
