Bechler lived in Amer­i­ca 1806–36. While there, he taught at the seminary in Na­za­reth, Penn­syl­van­ia, and worked in Mo­ra­vi­an churches in Phil­a­del­phia, Penn­syl­van­ia; Sta­ten Island, New York; and Li­titz, Penn­syl­van­ia.
