Biography

Les was the son of min­is­ter Les­ter Ear­ling Beas­ley and Ed­na Eli­za Stew­art, and hus­band of Fran­ces Beas­ley.

He grew up in ma­ny lo­ca­tions in Tex­as, Ar­kan­sas, and Lou­isi­ana.

During the Ko­re­an War, he served in the 1st Tank Bat­tal­ion, 1st Ma­rine Di­vi­sion.

After the war, he be­came lead sing­er for the Flo­ri­da Boys, a Sou­thern Gos­pel quar­tet he man­aged for al­most half a cen­tu­ry.

He al­so served as pre­si­dent of Beas­ley & Bark­er Mu­sic Pub­lish­ers, Sac­red Sound Pub­li­ca­tions, the Gos­pel Mu­sic As­so­cia­tion (two years), and the Sou­thern Gos­pel Mu­sic As­so­cia­tion (lat­er the Sou­thern Gos­pel Mu­sic Guild).

He pro­duced the Gos­pel Sing­ing Ju­bi­lee, a na­tion­al te­le­vi­sion pro­gram.
