Biography

Beach came from sev­er­al ge­ne­ra­tions of min­is­ters. He was edu­cat­ed at Har­vard Uni­ver­si­ty (BA 1935), Bos­ton Uni­ver­si­ty School of Theo­lo­gy (STB 1941), and the Uni­ver­si­ty of Sou­thern Ca­li­for­nia (PhD 1957).

He served as pas­tor of the Neigh­bor­hood Church, Pa­sa­de­na, Ca­li­for­nia (1943–59); Smith­field Unit­ed Church, Pitts­burgh, Penn­syl­van­ia (1959–75); and the First Con­gre­ga­tion­al Church, Blue Hill, Maine (1975–80).
