Introduction

Biography

Clifford was the young­est bro­ther of com­pos­er and po­et Sir Ar­nold Ed­ward Tre­vor Bax.

He at­tend­ed Slade and Hea­ther­ly Art Schools, and comp­let­ed his school­ing in Ger­ma­ny.

He found­ed the Phoe­nix So­ci­ety (1919–26) to re­vive Eli­za­be­than and Res­to­ra­tion dra­mas.

Works

Bax pro­duced plays, po­ems, ball­ad op­er­as, and bio­gra­phies (in­clud­ing one of crick­et­er W. G. Grace). Among his works are:
