Baum joined the Christian Science Church in 1900. She thereafter lived in Boston, Massachusetts, and worked for The Christian Science Monitor through part of that time. Seven of her hymns appeared in the Christian Science Hymnal (Boston, Massachusetts: Christian Science Publishing Society, 1937), several bearing copyright dates of 1932. Her works include:
