Biography

Baker was a cho­ri­ster in Win­ches­ter Ca­thed­ral for se­ven years, part of which time Sam­uel Wes­ley was the or­gan­ist.

He stu­died har­mo­ny un­der Fred­er­ick Il­iffe, and went on to play the or­gan at Christ Church, San­down, Isle of Wight (1864–72), then at St. Sav­iour’s, Shank­lin, Isle of Wight, for al­most three de­cades.
