Ayers wrote the Sunny Jim advertising jingles in the early 20th Century, and was sometimes called Sunny Minny Maud. She also wrote jingles for the Herald, American and World newspapers in New York City, and posed for Charles Dana Gibson as a Gibson Girl. She and her daughter ran the Mary B. Ayers Press, which published children’s stories.
