John S. Arkwright (1872-1954)

Son of J. Hun­ger­ford Ark­wright, and great-great grand­son of cot­ton-spin­ning in­dus­trial­ist Rich­ard Ark­wright, John at­tend­ed Eton and Christ Church, Ox­ford, and was the New­di­gate Prize­man in 1895. He served as Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for Her­e­ford (1900-12) and as Chief Stew­ard of Her­e­ford, and was knighted in 1934. His works in­clude:
