Biography

Lewis was the young­est child of Lew­is Amis and Lou­isa Yeo­mans John­son, and hus­band of Ag­nes Jane Ful­ton (mar­ried 1884).

He gra­du­at­ed from Van­der­bilt Uni­ver­si­ty in 1878, and in Oc­to­ber that year joined the Ten­nes­see Con­fer­ence of the Me­tho­dist Epis­co­pal Church, South.

He was as­sist­ant sec­re­ta­ry of the Ten­nes­see Me­tho­dist Conference (1880–95), and sec­re­ta­ry from 1895 un­til his death.

He filled ma­ny ap­point­ments, and was serv­ing as pas­tor in Pu­las­ki, Ten­nes­see, when he died.
