Biography

Erskine was the son of hym­nist Hen­ry Al­lon.

He was edu­cat­ed at Read­ing and Tri­ni­ty Col­lege, Cam­bridge, and stu­died com­po­si­tion un­der Fred­er­ick Cor­der.

He is re­mem­bered main­ly for writ­ing cho­ral works, cham­ber mu­sic and pi­ano­for­te so­los.
