Biography

Adriance was the son of Will­iam Adri­ance and Ma­ry Eli­za­beth Har­ring­ton. and hus­band of Liz­zie P. Whit­comb.

He at­tend­ed Dart­mouth Col­lege, Clare­mont, New Hamp­shire; Dart­mouth pub­li­ca­tions list his home as Pough­keep­sie, New York.

At Dart­mouth, he was sec­re­tary for the class of 1873, and be­longed to Kap­pa Sig­ma Ep­si­lon, the Ze­ta Chapter of Psi Up­si­lon, the Theo­lo­gic­al and Mis­sion­ary So­ci­ety, the So­cial Friends Club, the Col­lege Nines Ball Club, and the A. B. C. Club.

He lat­er at­tend­ed An­do­ver Theo­lo­gic­al Sem­in­ary, New­ton Cen­tre, Mas­sa­chu­setts, and Prince­ton Theo­lo­gic­al Se­mi­na­ry, Prince­ton, New Jer­sey.
