Adams, a mem­ber of the So­ci­ety of Friends (Quak­ers), was a teach­er, and lead­er of a lo­cal adult school in Frim­ley, Eng­land.

She pre­ferred to re­main ano­ny­mous, so li­ttle is known of her.
