Biography

Horatio was the son of Da­vid Ab­bey and Nan­cy Farn­ham, and broth­er to Alon­zo Ab­bey. He mar­ried twice, to Nan­cy Ma­ria Young (1840) and Cor­del­ia Burt (1863).

In 1845, Un­ion Col­lege in Al­ba­ny, New York, award­ed him an hon­or­ary Ba­che­lor of Arts de­gree.
