Lyrics

O Jesus, at Thy feet we wait,
’Till Thou shalt bid us rise,
Restored to our unsinning state,
To love’s sweet paradise.

Savior, from sin we Thee receive,
From all indwelling sin,
Thy Word, we steadfastly believe,
Shall make us fully clean.

Still we continue in Thy word,
Our faith by works we show,
Expecting to be as our Lord,
And all the truth to know.

The truth that makes us free indeed,
The living truth divine,
The glorious fullness of our Head
Shall in His members shine.

Lord, we believe, and wait the hour
That brings the promised grace,
When born of God we sin no more,
But always see Thy face.

Since Thou wouldst have us free from sin,
And pure as those above,
Make haste to bring Thy nature in,
Perfecting us in love.

The counsel of Thy love fulfill,
Come quickly, gracious Lord,
Be it according to Thy will,
According to Thy word.

According to our faith in Thee,
Let it to us be done;
Oh! that we all Thy face might see,
And know as we are known!

Oh! that the perfect gift were giv’n,
The love diffused abroad,
Oh! that our hearts were all a heav’n
For ever filled with God!
